The last couple of blogs have spoken about starting to connect to your body and cells, seeing yourself and your wellbeing as a holistic whole. With the growth of research into how our beliefs and subconscious minds affect our health, there are a vast range of alternative healing modalities available now. The usual medical approach is always best but sometimes you may want to know what else is out there.
With my meditation practice, I’ve learnt that my body is the first to tell me what issues/problems I may not be facing up to, e.g. back ache if too much is going on, creating a burden for myself which I’m having problems carrying. Your body is a map, telling you what part of your life could be causing you health issues.
There are many books out there which tell you how each part of your body represents specific ailments. One of my favourites is “Your Body Speaks Your Mind” by Debbie Shapriro. On some level, the more we bury our head in the sand, the more the body takes the pain and flak for that. When you have a physical complaint, use this book to see what the potential problem could be.
Another approach is taken by Isabelle Benaraous who has created the Bio-Programming healing technique. Her interest in why some people can heal from cancer led her to look at our subconscious mind, the beliefs/programs we inherit from our parents to find a way to heal others. Her technique has helped people overcome serious illnesses.
It seems as though the issues and problems we have in life start to impact our physical and energetic bodies if we avoid looking at them. The body takes the brunt of what we ignore. Relationships breakups, betrayal, financial difficulties and so on, when not addressed start to impact our health.
These alternative routes to health make us realise that the body/mind is a very real connection and when we start to resolve the issues in life by facing them, our health and wellbeing improve enormously.
