In the last blog I spoke about how our financial beliefs impact our life. Many people don’t realise that beliefs play a very important role in our lives and they determine what we can achieve. They reside deep in our subconscious and are mainly forgotten about.

In this blog, we’ll explore the area of your relationship to your body, health and weight. We’ll look at the actions you can take to uncover your limiting beliefs around these areas and how to replace them with empowering ones which help you achieve your ideal weight and fitness.
You can then start to apply these techniques to any other area of your life which isn’t working out as you’d like it to. It’s worth doing this because changing your beliefs can massively impact the results you achieve in life.
My eBook Manifesting From the Soul – How to Raise Your Vibration & Unleash the Power Within covers this in more detail. Start to create the life you desire by buying it now to delve more deeply into how your beliefs are created, why they affect your life and what you can achieve.
When it comes to your body, how do you think or feel about it? Do you value it enough to give it the right nourishment and exercise? Do you care how healthy you are?
If you have problems losing weight and keeping it off, or don’t like parts of your body, then have a good look at your self-image. The first thing to do is to spend some time uncovering your current beliefs. Write down what your body means to you and your beliefs around weight and exercise,
Remember this will help your long-term growth so set aside some time to do this with pen/paper or laptop to write down your beliefs. Below are a few to get you going – are some of these in your subconscious right now?
- Do you like your body, any aspect of it?! Or is it a burden you feel you just have to live with?
- Does your body annoy you because it’s never the shape/weight you want it to be?
- You diet but it never seems to get you anywhere, your body refuses to get to that ideal weight?
- Is your extra weight a way to be protected from unwanted attention by others? Maybe to prevent being in a relationship because you got hurt last time and don’t want to go through that again.
- Do you feel you must finish everything on your plate even if you’re full? Why is that? Is it because there’s not enough food for everyone and it’s selfish to leave it?
- Do you fear going to the gym, an exercise class or jogging because of how you’ll look or people may stare at you?
- Are you punishing your body for past events and what were they?
- Is there a pattern to when you overeat or reach for those sweet foods?
- What emotions are being hidden by food and are there other ways to deal with them?
- Is there some past situation which is causing you to reach for the chocolate?
Sometimes our bodies get punished for all the ills that have been done to us – parents telling us we were no good, being bullied at school, people making fun of us, breaking up with someone. We push down the emotions we feel and hide it under food and weight because it’s easier to hide it than face it.
In the process, we may disconnect from our bodies, blaming them for making life miserable because we don’t look good or can’t wear the right clothes. It may seem like a battle trying to get your body into shape – why won’t it lose those last few pounds!
It may seem scary or uncomfortable, but once you go within, you’ll find that your body is not the enemy. Examining your beliefs around your body and your eating/exercise habits will give you the keys to understanding how to take care of it.
Create affirmations for the new beliefs you want to install, such as the ones below but word them in a way which resonates with you.
- I am worthy and deserving of always being my ideal weight.
- I treat my body with respect and always eat healthily.
- I love eating fresh food, it makes me feel so good.
- Exercising is fun and makes me feel wonderful.
- I always only eat as much as I need.
- I give myself permission to leave food on the plate if I want to. I honour my body by doing this.
You can use a creative visualisation meditation to help you remove those limiting beliefs and habits and replace them with more empowering visions. Follow the steps below.
Write down the beliefs you want to eliminate. Find some quiet time and breathe deeply to get into a relaxed state. See a golden or violet flame of light around your body burning away those limiting beliefs and habits. See them replaced by your new affirmations/beliefs.
For example, visualise yourself pushing away the plate with food on since your full, see yourself enjoying exercising and seeing your body become fitter and slimmer. Imagine with deep feeling the new you who has a positive relationship with your body and food. Do this for 5-15 minutes. After the meditation, rip up the paper to symbolise you are done with those old beliefs.
Repeat the affirmations daily, maybe 2-3 times a day. Say them with feeling, truly believe them and start to create the belief, the neuronal groove in your brain that this is true.
Aim to say them out loud with joyful feeling and gusto every day – don’t just say them in a meek, mild way. Walk around as if they are true now – would you walk taller, have more confidence? Do that now.
You can create a vision board. Put up pictures of people enjoying eating healthy food, photoshop yourself at your ideal weight with a wonderful outfit on or exercising at the gym. Play with this and have fun. These pictures go into your subconscious mind which then starts to hold your new beliefs about your relationship to your body, exercise and fitness.
If you find yourself slipping into old habits, then do the meditation again. You may have had those beliefs for many years so they could have roots like an old tree deep into your subconscious. See each meditation as ripping out the old roots of limiting beliefs and replacing them with brand, new empowering ones.
Many of us have a troubled views of our body. So take time to go through the steps above and begin a brand new loving relationship with your body.
