When reaching for your goals, persistence is just as important as patience. There will be times when things go wrong, or it’s taking too long to see a result and that’s when our persistence kicks in. It’s to do with that whole thing of getting up after each knock-back, seeing each failure as a learning and carrying on regardless.
Some goals require us to change a lot of beliefs we have about ourselves and this doesn’t happen overnight or in a matter of weeks.
If you’ve believed for 10-30 years that you should work for someone else and then decide you want to start your own business, you have to create the mindset of a successful business owner. That means revamping your attitude and mind to beliefs around working. Instead of being told what to do, you’re now deciding how to create business everyday and how to make enough money to survive from this.
When people have children, they have 9 months to get used to the idea and prepare. Imagine if the child was born in a week or two – many people would just panic!
It’s the same with your goals, if it’s something that’s stretching you, give yourself the time to get used to the idea and prepare for it so that you become comfortable with it.
Keep going after each new learning for as Napoleon Hill says in his book Think and Grow Rich, persistence is necessary for success!
