Do you find yourself making the wrong decisions and regretting it later? Would you love to know how to make the best decision every time? One way to do this is to move your awareness to your heart when you need to make a choice and choose what feels right.

 

 

You’ve probably been told all your life to follow the logical mind and maybe you’ve felt torn at times because of this; because the mind and heart are telling you to do different things. You may follow the logical mind, which is fine sometimes, but other times you realise you made a mistake.

For example, sometimes you have a choice to make – on paper something looks right but there’s a niggly feeling that something isn’t right. You go with it because it looks right but then something unexpected happens and you really wish you’d gone with that little voice which said something was wrong. Your heart told you to make the other choice and you kick yourself because you didn’t.

The problem with just going with the mind is that it doesn’t know what’s around the corner, whereas heart-based decisions do because they’re connected to your intuition.

When you focus on your heart, you’re making a decision which is aligned with your true desires and values. You’re tapping into your inner wisdom and intuition. This can bring more clarity and emotional balance. You begin to make more fulfilling and authentic choices.

So why follow your heart? Below are some examples which show why this practice can help guide you toward choices that resonate with who you truly are, leading to more fulfilment.

  • Career Choices: When deciding between two job offers, one with higher pay and another that aligns with your passions and values. Following your heart might lead you to choose the latter for long-term fulfillment. 
  • Relationships: In matters of love or friendship, trusting your intuition about someone’s character or compatibility can lead you to build more authentic connections.
  • Personal Well-being: When faced with decisions about self-care, like prioritizing mental health or taking time off for yourself, letting your heart guide you ensures that you honour your emotional needs.

So how do you shift your awareness to your heart? You can try the steps below and with practice, it becomes second nature.    

  1. Find a Quiet Space: Sit comfortably in a calm, distraction-free environment. 

  1. Relax and Breathe: Close your eyes and take several slow, deep breaths to relax your mind and body. 

  1. Focus on Your Heart Area: Gently bring your attention to the center of your chest. You might visualize a warm, glowing light or feel a sense of peace there. 

  1. Practice Heart-Centered Breathing: As you breathe, imagine your breath flowing in and out through your heart, helping you feel more connected to your inner wisdom and guidance. 

  1. Listen to Your Feelings: Allow any emotions or intuitions to surface without judgment. Notice what your heart is telling you about your choices. 

  1. Reflect Before Deciding: When faced with a decision, pause, reconnect with your heart, and consider how each option aligns with your core values and feelings. 

  1. Journal Your Insights: Writing down your thoughts and feelings can help clarify the messages you’re receiving from your heart. 

Practicing heart awareness will enhance your clarity and balance. It allows your decisions to be guided by your authentic self rather than just logic or external pressures. This will automatically deepen your intuition and help you to hear the guidance of the Universe. 

Once this becomes part of your life, you know that the decisions you make will not only be right but also reflect your true self. You’re actually deepening your intuition/gut instinct so much that you automatically begin to follow the guidance of the Universe which always has your back and wants what is best for you
