In last week’s blog I spoke about using the technique of imagining that your goal has already manifested and then taking actions from there to create your goal. But sometimes, no matter what you do, however long you try, that goal always seems out of reach. Why is that?

Our beliefs are so strong, that any belief you have which is in opposition to what you want, will stop any goal being created which is in contradiction to that belief. If deep down you feel that “money is the root of all evil” then you won’t get a high-paying job, have great wealth because that belief is like a brick wall, like a huge, tall barrier preventing you from getting immense wealth.
The good news is we can always throw out limiting beliefs and replace them with empowering beliefs. Look at it like changing your clothes wardrobe, but this time you’re changing your belief wardrobe. Take out each belief and decide whether or not it empowers you. If it doesn’t, throw it out and replace it with a new powerful belief.
Below are a few limiting beliefs you may have around certain areas which are causing your goals not to come to fruition. Your subconscious beliefs are usually installed between the ages of 0-7, so look at the beliefs your parents, carers, teachers, friends had for the following areas. Have you still got them? If you don’t like them, make the decision to replace them with beliefs which will create a wonderful life for you.
The people who gave you the beliefs were probably brought up to think like that. It’s not a bad reflection on them – they were doing the best that they could with what they’d been given. But in this day and age, we can decide what beliefs we want in our wardrobe – you don’t have to dress like your mum or dad 🙂
Money/wealth
Money is the root of all evil.
People like us stay in our place, we don’t reach above ourselves.
Wealthy people are arrogant and greedy, why would I want to be like that?
Relationships
I don’t like myself, so how can anyone else like me?
I always pick losers, that will never change.
I’m not loveable, how can I find the right partner?
Career
I haven’t got what it takes to reach the top.
Everyone ia always smarter than me, what makes me think I can get that job?
I’m worried they’ll see me for the fraud I am once I get that job.
It takes courage to look at your subconscious beliefs. Some of them are just not nice things to think or believe about ourselves! But once you face them head on, you can throw them out and replace them with the opposite belief. Write it down, say it out loud and really mean it, e.g.
My wealth will allow me to help others.
I am loveable always; I deserve to find the right partner.
I’m bright, I always do what it takes to get the job done.
The is all personal so create new beliefs which resonate with you in any area where you find your life isn’t working. Your aim is to get to the stage where you know that it’s true. So write it down and say it out loud with enthusiasm and feeling.
You can also use meditation to help you break those old limiting beliefs. Write down the ones you want to eliminate. Find a quiet time and breathe deeply to get into a relaxed state. Then imagine those old beliefs as brick walls, or a house which is being knocked down with a wrecking ball, smashing them to smithereens or anything else which resonates with you. Then rip up the paper to symbolise you are done with those old beliefs. Give the intent that you will replace these demolished beliefs with new empowering ones and state them out loud. Do this as often as you like until you “feel” the new beliefs are embedding themselves in your subconscious mind.
If you can visualise having achieved your goal, then it’s there waiting to come into your life. But you may need to do some work in removing old beliefs which are preventing it appearing. So keep working on getting rid of the old beliefs – you may find others after your first round. Don’t give up. The more you release, the more you are becoming the person you will be when your goal/dream appears in your life.
