Many of us have goals in life and things we want to achieve. We can make plans and take actions but what if our goals still seem a long way off even after this? We can put all our time, energy and effort into it and still get nowhere, making us feel demoralised and sometimes desperate.
This is the time when you may want to think about surrendering it to a higher power – the Universe, God or the intelligent design around us! When you just let go and take the attitude of what will be will be, sometimes the miraculous can happen – an idea pops into your head, you come across the right article or meet the right person.
Surrendering isn’t about letting go to the extent that you don’t care, rather it’s about being unattached to the outcome. As you relax, it’s almost as if space is created for solutions to appear.
I see it as the more fixated we are on achieving a goal, it’s almost as if we’re pushing the door shut to the solution. Once we surrender, we stop leaning on that door and it opens, allowing into our minds ideas on what to do next.
It’s similar to when we’re staring at the screen at work trying to get a document written or solve a problem. You go out for a walk, take a break and as soon as your mind is off work, the solution comes into your mind. Or trying to remember the name of an actor and once we don’t focus on it, the name comes into our mind!
Stop banging your head against the wall if you’re trying to reach an objective and it just isn’t happening. Surrendering is about giving yourself some breathing space to let your subconscious mind and the universal energies around you bring to you the ideas, the ‘Aha’ moment on how to create your aims. You’re not on your own.
Give yourself the luxury to surrender for a moment and see how that peaceful, serene feeling can help you on the road to achieve your goal.
I’ll give myself some breathing space. I like that
You’re right, I can’t think or plan too far ahead after what’s happened with Covid. I don’t feel the need to plan far, just enjoying the present and that feels good
I wonder when Malti is leading another of her wonderful group meditations? I’m looking forward to the next one
Thank you Malti
Thanks for the comment Emma 🙂 It’s good sometimes to let go and just Be! Will let you know when I plan the next group meditation 🙂
